Ganja La Trek is one of the great adventure, sharp crossing of the 5107m Ganja La from Kyangjin in Langtang to Tarke Ghyang in Helambu. This trek is short and completely camping trek off the beaten route of Langtang area of Nepal and rightly so. It is also called Ganja La Pass Trek.

The trail is under developed with no tea house available along the way until Tarke Ghyang and demanding crossing, in absent of camping equipment, climbing gears, experience guide imagination and effort turn into worthless. Ganja La offers a great circular trek back through Helambu, several fantastic overviews of Langtang ranges, picturesque trekking peaks, mountains, diverse landscapes, dramatic colorful villages, see several rare wildlife.

Medium

It involves some steep climbs and perhaps exposed cliff, at altitude up to 5500m. Some long days and a high passes crossing may be involved.

Hard

May required basic mountaineering skills out of seasons or after heavy snowfall. There may be stretches without decent camping spots and navigation can be tricky places.

Day 01:

Kyangjin to Ngegang(4000m/13123.36 ft.),  5-6hr walk

 

Day 02:

Ngegang to Keldang(4270m/14009.19 ft.), 6-7hr walk

 

Day 03:

Keldang to Dukpu(4080m/13385.83 ft.), 6-7hr walk

 

Day 04:

Dupu to Targe Ghyang(2590m8497.375 ft.), 6-7hr walk

 

Day 05:

Tarke Ghyang to Sermathang(2590m/8497.375 ft.), 4-5hr walk 

 

Day 06:

Sermathang to Kathmandu(1350m/4429.134 ft.)5-6hr drive

 

Day 07:

Departure from kathmandu

 

 

Trek Duration:

Standard itinerary –7 days. Can be shortened or extended depending on time and Fitness.
