Generally, I don't go overboard with feedback but this is one company that I can't stop lavishing praise on.
Their personal touch, eye for detail at every step, constantly asking for feedback and almost immediately acting upon it are truly outstanding..!! When I contacted Tsering D Sherpa, the manager, over email about his fixed departures for Mera Peak climbing in December 2018, he grouped me with a pair of Canadians. At the point, the price for the climb was the lowest I could find on Internet.
When the two Canadians dropped out, Tsering stood by the agreed price and more importantly the dates. He answered every question of mine in detail and added more information so that everything is crystal clear..No hidden costs or agendas which I personally very much appreciated.
Finally, when KTM-Lulka flights were rescheduled to leave from Manthali, I wanted change the itinerary so that I could take a jeep ride to khari khola instead flight (as it made more sense in terms of acclimatisation), Tsering readily agreed. I don't know what strings he pulled but he got me a front seat in the Jeep which made the ride that much more comfortable.
The receiving at KTM by the company was a very nice touch, which made me feel really special. This is not my first visit to Nepal, and again this shows the care that the company and Tsering take for detailed planning. The banner for peak climbing with my name on it made me almost believe that I am a climber..You should see it to believe it..!! Truly motivating touch.
My Guide Mingmar Chirri Sherpa, a two time Everest climber and 7 prior mera peak climbs under his belt, was fantastic. He had friends everywhere on the trek and climb. Took me directly into kitchens of lodges everywhere, hosted me in his brother's lodge in Chatra khola, shared a bottle of rum until the attitude guidelines allowed... A super strong guy, who was always cheerful, resourceful and extremely professional. Suffice to say, of the five teams that attempted the summit on the night of 27th April, Mingmar and I were the only ones who summited. Without his careful assessment and pacing of me, it would have been impossible for me, a first time climber,to reach the peak. The guys in other teams were stronger and younger (I am 50), but I think what mattered ultimately was a good guide with solid experience.
After the trek back to Lukla, upon hearing I was tired and had a sore heel, Tsering arranged a private car and a guide to transport me back from Manthali ramechhap airport to KTM..My sore body couldn't have appreciated it more..And he kept updating my wife over phone, whenever I was out of reach in the mountains..and I can tell Tsering is a busy man..He also debriefed me after the trek and gathered feedback with pointed questions focusing on improvements. I guess the quality of the company's services come from all this attention to detail and focus on improvement..
Last but not least, the Porter purtyemba was also very good. Generally a reserved and calm guy, but always there when needed, who came to life when playing cards with his mates.
All in all, the 13 days of the Mera peak climbing are truly memorable days of my life. As this is my first climb, the success here made it more special. And the only reasons for the success are the planning and execution of Tsering and Mingmar.
I will certainly employ the services of this company and will recommend to friends and others without any hesitation.
A truly five star company in customer service...!!!!
