Day 01

Scenic drive to Kerung(2700m/8858.268 ft.), 8-9hr drive

At 5:30 AM in the morning, we move towards a 7min walk to Sanchaya Kosh Building, Tridevi Sadak. After having our breakfast in the Trisuli, we continue our journey and around 7hr by means of transportation will bring us to the Rasuwagadhi(border of Nepal & Tibet) via headquarter Dunche, Syabru Besi. In the initial section, we follow the Pokhara road to Galchi. Here a new road follows the Trisuli River most north through Trisuli Bazaar to Rasuwagadhi via Syabru Besi. There you'll accomplish immigration procedures in Nepal and Tibet side. After performing both sides immigration formalities, we introduce you to our professionally trained local Tibet guide, welcomed to entire guests with holy Khata afterword continue to drive to Kerong by means of transportation. Day 02

Scenic drive to Tingri(4300m/140107ft. )/ Lhatse(4350m/14271ft. ), 5 - 6hr

After having the breakfast, we will drive to Kerung pass at the elevation of over 4900m and then drive along Pekutso lake and continue to Old Dingri at the distance of around 180Km. The scenery is extremely beautiful with Shisha Bangma snow mountain on the right and Pekutso on the left. The journey to the highest plateau of the world offers the breathtaking panoramic beautiful Himalayan ranges including Mt. Makalu(8464m), Mt. Lhotse(8516m), Mt. Cho Oyu(8201m) and Mt. Everest(8848m) & Mt. Xishapagma(8012m). From Tingri, we will enjoy the magnificence of Mt. Everest (8,848m).

Day 03

Drive to Shigatse(3900m/12795ft. ), 4hr

We will continue our journey through the friendship highway which passes the Gyatso la at the elevation of 5220m observing beautiful prayer flags. Driving to Lhatse town situated on the route to Mt. Kailash we will enjoy seeing beautiful Tibetan farmers villages with their beautiful Tibetan traditional houses with prayer flags on the rooftop. A 4hr drive takes us to Tibet's second largest city, Shigatse renowned by famous Tashilumpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama.

Day 04

Drive to Gyantse (3950m/12959ft. ), 2 - 3hr

Early in the morning after having breakfast we will start our sightseeing tour and visit Panchen Lama’s Tashi Lhumpu Monastery, the largest Gelukpamonatery in the western Tibet. After the visit of the monastery, we will continue our drive to Gyangtse passing the beautiful valleys and colorful Tibetan villages. We will visit Gyantse Dzong and Gyantse Kumbum. Gyantse Dzong offers the most amazing views of Gyantse surrounding Nyang Chu Valley and Gyantse Kumbum has a large gold-domed Stupa and houses with several chapels and Tibetan Buddhist murals.

Day 05

Drive to Lhasa (3650m/11975ft. ), 7hr

Our drive to Lhasa takes 7hr passing through mountain passes Karo La(5010m) and Kamba La(4794m). Karo La is the highest pass with beautiful glaciers, beautiful Yamdrok lake emerged as coral color from the top of Kampala pass. From the Kamba La, we descend to the main road which brings us to Lhasa. We will have a distant view of Potala Palace on the way.

Sightseeing In Lhasa

After our breakfast, we processed for full days Sightseeing in Lhasa. The historical monuments are the Potala Palace, winter palace of the Dalai Lama, the Jokhang Temple Monastery and the Norbulingka, the Dalai Lama's former summer palace built in the 18th century masterpiece of Tibetan art. During our two days of sightseeing, we will explore the popular tourist attractions of Tibet Jokhang temple, Drepung Monastery, Bharkor Bazaar, and Potala Palace. Potala Palace is the most tourist attraction beautiful monuments in Tibet 13storeys building, containing over 1,000 rooms, 10,000 shrines, and about 200,000 statues, soar 117m on top of Red mountain, rising more than 300m in total above the valley floor. It contains the principal halls and church room and idol of past Dalai Lamas. There is much rich decorative painting, with jeweled work, carving and other ornamentation. The palace is decorated with hundred of Thanka paintings and images created hundreds of years ago the perfect example of how ancient monuments should be preserved. We will also visit Jokhang temple having huge Sakyamuni Buddha statue and considered as the holiest place in Tibet contains eight rooms on two floors to house scriptures and sculptures of the Buddha. The temple had brick floors, door frames and carvings made of wood. The outer circle has a circular path, with a number of large prayer wheels leads to the main shrine, which is surrounded by chapels. The temple is surrounded by the Barkhor market, where we will see the several small, fascinating temple into the route.

Then we will visit Sera Monastery an important aspect of Tibetan Buddhism. Sera survived the destruction of the cultural revolution with the light damage although many of the lesser colleges were destroyed. The sculpture is scripted with gold powder, statues, scent cloth, and murals were seen in profusion. We will also visit the Drepung Monastery one of the world’s Largest monasteries in Tibet. Norbulingka is a palace served as the summer residence of the Dalai Lama. The palace has a large collection of Italian chandeliers, Tibetan carpets, other artifacts and discovers the wonderful collection of the ancient mural.

Scenic flight to Kathmandu

After having our breakfast in the hotel at Kathmandu we drive towards Gonggor airport to catch the flight back to Kathmandu. Our representative will be waiting and transfer you to the hotel in a private vehicle. You can spend the rest of the by relaxing or shopping for gifts and souvenirs.

Trekking Equipment

Have a kindly bring the following stated equipment for the camping/tented trek. The equipment you can buy in Kathmandu with different quality at a good price.

Luggage:

01 large duffel bag: The Luggage is for to carry all your personal gear on the trekking. Should be strong and durable. The best size would be around 30" x 14", with a full-length zipper and handles.

1 rucksack or day pack: The bag is for to accommodate a sweater, rain gear, water bottle, camera and accessories and any miscellaneous items you need to have during the day. We recommend a pack with at least 1450cu. Incapacity or smaller if you are not carrying a large amount of camera equipment.


Head and Face Gear:

Information

Tibet Visa and Travel Permit Information

All foreigners other than Chinese and Tibetan need to obtain Tibet visa and travel permit to enter the Tibet. Tibet travel permit is issued by Tibet Tourism Bureau. Tourist cannot apply their travel permit themselves. Tibet Bureau only accept application from registered travel agencies like Global Holidays Adventure. Tibet permit or visa comes in paper, not in your passport.

(Note: It is very important that Tibet Travel permit and Tibet Visa is different. You can’t enter the Tibet just with Chinese Visa. Before entering Tibet you should obtain Tibet Travel permit.)

Require document for Tibet visa /Permit

  • At least six month valid clear scan copy of your passport.
  • Chinese visa copy by email (For those travelers who are entering Tibet from mainland China)
  • You have to fill up a form Chinese Embassy Kathmandu with your latest passport size of a picture. For those who are Travelling from Nepal. Global Holidays Adventure will manage it).

Tibet Tourism Bureau takes one week time to approve the travel Permit. Sometime it take more than a week so applying your Tibet permit before 15 days Is safe way.

Diplomats Passport holders, journalists, professional media photographer and government officials are not able to issue their Tibet Travel permit through normal travel agencies.
